Wire Rope Cable
ASTRO supplies plastic-coated steel wire rope for lighting suspension, tool tethers, display systems and other OEM cable assemblies. The steel rope construction, coating material, colour, thickness, finished diameter, length and end fittings are defined by the enquiry.
State whether the requested diameter refers to the bare wire rope or the finished coated cable.
Products within the 1–10mm diameter range can be reviewed by specification.
PVC, nylon or another requested coating can be evaluated for the application.
Coating colour, thickness and finished diameter are confirmed in the quotation.
Reels, cut lengths and finished assemblies with defined terminals can be quoted.

Plastic-coated wire rope can be considered for lighting suspension assemblies, tool tethers, display systems, control cables, security cables and other manufactured products. Final suitability depends on the complete cable specification, end termination and operating conditions.
A coating can provide a smoother surface and a coloured outer layer, but abrasion, UV, chemical, temperature, salt-water and outdoor performance depend on the selected polymer and coating thickness. State the exposure conditions and required test method so the specification can be reviewed.
Provide working load, minimum breaking load, safety factor, bend conditions and test method. Load values must be confirmed for the quoted rope construction, steel, coating and end termination.
Send the bare and finished diameter, construction, steel, coating, colour, length, both end connections, load requirement, quantity and destination.
Specify any material certificate, coating inspection, dimensional inspection or assembly load test required for the plastic-coated wire rope. Applicable standards and document scope are confirmed with the quotation.
