Wire Rope Cable
Aircraft cable is a common trade name for small-diameter steel wire rope used in mechanical and OEM assemblies. ASTRO reviews requirements in the 1–10mm range for stainless steel, galvanised steel and coated cable.
For flight-critical or regulated aerospace use, provide the required standard, approval and test documentation before quotation. Product suitability is confirmed only against the agreed specification.
Metric and common imperial diameter requirements can be reviewed.
7×7 and 7×19 constructions are available for different flexibility needs, subject to quotation.
Bare, galvanised, stainless steel and coated specifications can be discussed.
Cut lengths, reels and finished assemblies with end fittings can be quoted.

Common enquiry sizes within the target range include 1/16 in (about 1.6mm), 3/32 in (about 2.4mm), 1/8 in (about 3.2mm), 5/32 in (about 4.0mm), 3/16 in (about 4.8mm), 1/4 in (about 6.35mm), 5/16 in (about 7.9mm) and 3/8 in (about 9.5mm). Confirm the required tolerance and finished coated diameter in the drawing.
Aircraft cable is commonly specified for control cables, display and lighting suspension, tool tether assemblies and other mechanical products. The name alone does not establish approval for aircraft, lifting or safety-critical use.
Send the diameter, construction, material, coating, length, end fitting drawing, quantity and destination. Include every required standard and test document with the enquiry.
Material certificates, dimensional inspection and load-test documents are confirmed for the quoted specification. Any aerospace, lifting or safety compliance requirement must be reviewed and agreed in writing before order.
