Lighting manufacturers can source wire rope and completed suspension cable assemblies against a fixture drawing or component specification. The cable, ceiling connection, fixture connection, adjustment device and installation layout should be reviewed as one system.
Wire rope: material, construction, bare diameter, coating, finished diameter and colour.
Length: cut length, finished assembly length and tolerances.
Ceiling connection: loop, threaded fitting, hook, eye, stop or other attachment.
Fixture connection: terminal, bracket, gripper or customer-designed fitting.
Layout: one-point, two-point, Y-cable or multi-point arrangement, with drawings.
Performance: fixture weight, load distribution, safety factor, adjustment range and required test method.
Supply: assembly quantity, spare components, labels, instructions, individual packing and destination.
Gripper compatibility depends on cable diameter, construction, surface, load direction and adjustment requirement. Threads, mounting geometry, material and finish should be specified for both ends. A complete drawing helps prevent a cable, gripper and fixture mismatch.
No general load rating or conformity statement applies to every suspension kit. The required working load, safety factor, proof test, applicable standard and acceptance criteria must be tied to the exact assembly and installation method.
